When Maile and her boys visited last week, they corralled Kate and I to the Thanksgiving Point petting farm and zoo. True to her colors, Kate kissed all the animals (even the chickens) fed them with gusto, and let them lick all over her tasty fingers and face. I maintained careful balance of watchful mom and hovering squasher of fun. Kate was smiling pretty much the whole time, so I think we succeeded.
But, in true uptown-fashion Kate detested the pony ride. Okay, detest was strong but in contrast to all the other kids who held on to their ponies in gleeful bliss with the parents trotting happily beside it seemed like detesting to me. I gave quite a riveting and convincing (at least I thought so) speech as to why pony rides "are the best!" Although, Kate did not buy it. Proof below.
Contrast here, Q is a true cowboy!
By the way, if you want to have a great week, a little break in your routine, and someone to offer a lifetime worth of help to you, have Maile and her boys in your neck of the woods for some time. Thank you Maile for all the fun times and help. We needed it!
Oh snap...that is so cute! :o)
